Bush Walking Information

Planning your first walk in the Alpine National Park or considering a trek into the more remote regions of the High Country can be a logistic nightmare.
H.C.S.T. can provide a service that might just solve those headaches!

We are able to:
° Access experienced Alpine walking guides.
° Assist in setting up remote base camps where it would be possible
   to leave for day walks.
° Drop off and pick up walkers as well as servicing supply drops into
   remote areas of the high country whilst offering secure vehicle
   parking.
° Arrange accommodation.

The rugged terrain of the Victorian High Country is both spectacular and unforgiving. Unpredictable weather patterns bring changes that constantly challenge walkers.


With that in mind, High Country Scenic Tours would like to take this opportunity to offer some common sense advice when planning your walk:

1. Plan to leave for your walk in plenty of time to return to your car or campsite in daylight.
2. Notify a responsible person of your route and intended time of return (it is wise to inform the same person of your return to avoid alarm).
3. At least four members should be in each party, in the event of an accident, two people go for help while one remains with the injured.
4. Be equipped for all outcomes, backpacks allow you to carry items (see list) for most emergencies.
